Kuranda Koala Gardens

Get your photo taken patting a koala (extra charge)! See freshwater crocodiles, meet some monitors, wombats and a variety of wallabies. Browse through a pioneering family's view of Kuranda's history. Open 9:30am - 4:00pm.

Bird World

Make some feathered friends...It's the largest collection of free-flying birds in Australia! See the spectacular birds at Birdworld, at home in their huge flight aviary, superbly landscaped with lakes, ponds and waterfalls. There are more than 45 species of native birds, including Regent Bowerbirds, parrots and the increasingly rare Cassowary. There are international species too, from the earth's vanishing rainforests, including the dazzling and outrageously plumaged macaw from South America. Hand feeding opportunities are available. Again, your camera is a must! Open 10:00am - 4:00pm.

This package includes entry to both Kuranda Koala Gardens & Birdworld Kuranda. Experience some of Australia’s most popular wildlife. Kuranda Koala Gardens offers the opportunity to pat a Koala for a photo opportunity (extra charge, ask on arrival) plus meet kangaroos and wallabies in a free-range enclosure. See the rare Greater Bilby, the Northern Bettong, Mahogany Glider and more in the new ‘Nocturnal Wonders’ exhibit. Visitors can also view wombats, Quokkas, Freshwater Crocodiles, pythons, frogs and lizards. At Birdworld, immerse yourself with the birds in their beautiful rainforest habitat. Flying around you are species from the vanishing rainforests of the world, including some of Australia’s most precious and beautiful birds. There are brilliant Amazonian macaws, the endangered and stately cassowary, cheeky rainbow lorikeets, galahs, cockatoos and many more. Don’t be surprised to find a feathered friend taking a ride on your shoulder.
